Meet Senga Gardner
Senga Garnder loves small town life, both for personal as well as for business reasons. The slow, casual pace of life makes it easier to get to know the wants and needs of guests. And living in a small town, Senga adds, means peace and quiet, a low crime rate and knowing one’s neighbours. “If you need a helping hand,” Senga notes, “there is always one just up the street.”
Senga’s husband worked at the Bell mine, and when it closed in 1992 the couple was faced with a dilemma: move or try to make a new way of living. Because they loved Granisle living, they chose to stay and developed Granisle Resort into a rental property as their new means of support. The couple has never looked back.
When she isn’t busy with the resort, Senga loves to knit or go for walks. She is constantly amazed at how much there is to do in Granisle when you really open your eyes and look around. From nature to all of the wonderful and unique businesses in town, there is always something happening.
